Who We Are

Academia Hub is a study platform for CBSE and ICSE students, built and operated by Gauransh Singhal, based in Pune, India. You can reach us at academiahub.in@gmail.com.

What We Collect

• Account information — Your email address, collected when you sign up via Firebase Authentication.
• Profile information — Your name, grade, stream, board, and school name, collected during onboarding and stored in our database.
• Study activity — Tasks, habits, notes, AI conversations, exam papers, quiz sessions, and focus timer sessions. Stored in Firestore and tied to your account.
• Device token — If you enable push notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you reminders. You can opt out at any time through your device settings.
• Usage and analytics — Page views, feature interactions, and session data collected via Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics 4. Linked to an anonymised user identifier.
• AI conversation content — Text and uploaded PDFs you send to AI features are transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. We do not store this content beyond what appears in your conversation history in the app.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and personalise the app (your grade, stream, and board tailor AI responses and exam generation)
• Send push notifications for exam countdowns, overdue tasks, and upcoming events — only if you opt in
• Understand how the app is used so we can improve it
• Authenticate you and keep your data secure

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, and push notifications. Google Privacy Policy

• Anthropic — AI processing for all AI features. Anthropic Privacy Policy

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, email academiahub.in@gmail.com — we will process deletion within 30 days. Push notification tokens are automatically removed when they become invalid.

Children's Privacy

Academia Hub is designed for students, including those under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without consent, contact us at academiahub.in@gmail.com and we will delete the account promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, or to withdraw consent for push notifications, email academiahub.in@gmail.com.

Security

All data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) with encryption at rest and in transit. Firestore security rules ensure only you can access your own data. API keys are never exposed to the client.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
