Everything you need to know
Common questions about Academia Hub — what it does, how each feature works, and how to get the best results.
General questions
Exam Prep
- Pick your exam type first. Unit Test = 20 marks, Mid-Term = 40 marks, Final = 80 marks. Match it to what you're preparing for.
- No PDF? Use the focus area field. Type chapter names or topics — the AI uses this to focus the paper.
- Upload typed PDFs, not scanned images. Scanned PDFs have no text layer and produce generic questions.
- Accountancy and Maths generate numerical-heavy papers with full working. Add theory topics to the focus area if you want a mix.
- English papers include unseen passages. Commerce papers include case-based questions. Science papers include assertion-reason MCQs. This is by design.
Study Buddy
- Quick Check — one crisp answer, 2–3 sentences. Use it to verify a fact fast.
- Help Me Learn — guided explanation with examples. Use it when confused about a concept.
- Deep Dive — thorough breakdown. Use it for chapters you're studying from scratch.
- Score Max — answer in CBSE/ICSE exam format with marks allocation. Use it to practice writing answers.
- It won't quote your textbook without a PDF. For chapter-specific content, upload the PDF and paste the question.
- Be specific. "Explain depreciation for Class 11 CBSE Accountancy with journal entries" gets a far better answer than "explain depreciation".
Problem Solver
- Hint — a nudge only, doesn't solve the problem. Use this first.
- Step-by-Step — full working with every step shown. Best for checking your method.
- Exam Trick — fastest route to the answer, exam-optimised.
- Error Analysis — paste your attempted solution and it finds where you went wrong.
- Upload a photo of a printed problem. Works best with good lighting and horizontal text.
- Specify the chapter for more relevant steps, e.g. "Chapter 6: Application of Derivatives".
Smart Quiz
- PDF quality is everything. A typed PDF produces precise MCQs. A scanned PDF produces vague, generic questions.
- One chapter at a time beats an entire textbook. The AI focuses better on less material.
- If your PDF is a scan with no text, you'll see an error. Try a different PDF instead.
- You get immediate feedback on each question — green correct, red wrong with the right answer shown. Report at the end shows wrong questions and revision suggestions.
Notes
- Output is structured, not a summary. You get key topics, definitions, formulas, tables, exam-important points, and a revision summary.
- One chapter at a time. Full textbooks produce output that covers too much.
- Scanned PDFs won't work. Notes generation requires a text layer.
- Maximum 6 topics per generation. This is intentional — it forces prioritisation of the most important content.
- Create a notebook per subject before generating so notes go into the right place automatically.
